Cebu-based holding company LH Paragon, Inc. (LHPI) is pleased to welcome Former Director-General and Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Mr. Karl Kendrick Chua in his recent appointment as one of the LH Paragon Group’s Board Advisors.
In a fellowship gathering with the LHPI Group’s Board Directors headed by Chairman Bernie H. Liu, together with its Executive Committee, Board Advisors and Business Unit heads last January 18, 2023, Mr. Chua shared his insights and outlook on the country’s economic prospects for 2023, citing that the Philippines has remained resilient despite a challenging global environment, and that economic growth can be sustained through key reforms in fiscal policy, health and education and agricultural productivity.
Mr. Chua brings his expertise as former Senior Economist for the World Bank and as Former Undersecretary of Fiscal and Economic Reforms for the Department of Finance. He is a also a recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Young Men and Women of the Philippines (TOYM) Award in the field of Economic Development.
The LH Paragon Group is optimistic that Mr. Chua’s extensive experience in economic and fiscal policy, as well as in political economy and statistical development, among others, will help strengthen key business processes and further solidify the Group’s position while driving momentum towards its long term development goals.
